Do you ever wonder: What’s the purpose of life? What’s the ultimate nature of life? What’s the ultimate cause of problems and conflicts in our life? Who or what is God?
For those inclined to ponder over such timeless questions, Maharishi University of Management (MUM) is offering an online course that is a perfect match.
Starting on June 25th, 2017, (note: it will be possible to enroll in the course up to July 25th) and taught by Dr. Evan Finkelstein, Maharishi Vedic Science and World Religions explores the topic of the Unity, the common ground that exists among the religions of the world.
Exploring the unity within the diversity
Maharishi Vedic Science (MVS) studies the nature of consciousness, creativity and intelligence and how to fully develop these essential qualities to improve all aspects of life. This particular course focuses on how MVS relates to the religious traditions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam and how these traditions relate to each other.
“As we all know, there is great diversity in the cultures and wisdom traditions of our world and these differences often lead to conflicts. However, deep insight into these traditions reveals an underlying unity of wisdom and purpose that is shared by all of them. This online course will explore the Unity within the diversity. When this Unity is understood and directly experienced, the differences remain but are lived in peace; they are lovingly appreciated as the many expressions of the same one Unity that is the ultimate source of all life,” Dr. Finkelstein explained.
The course will provide students with the opportunity to study deeply the following topics: the nature of God, religion, spiritual development, the main purpose of human life, the ultimate source of all problems and conflicts and how to rise above them through the development of higher states of consciousness. All these main themes are explored to show how MVS shines a great light on the scriptures of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. It also explores the profound experiences of the saints of all of these traditions.
Easy to take for the pure joy of learning
The course is administered through the Distance Education Department of Maharishi University of Management (MUM). In its online form, it is accessible to learners around the world, at their own pace and in the comfort of their homes. Dr. Finkelstein meets with the students as a group via special Live Webinars to answer any questions and discuss any topics that could arise for the learners. All Webinars are recorded, so a student does not need to attend live if the time is inconvenient but can still submit questions and comments for discussion.
“Because it is a non-credit course there is no pressure to do papers, homework, or to prepare for tests. It is all for the pure joy of knowledge!” Dr. Finkelstein explains the obvious perks of this form of learning.
The course consists of 10 lessons. Each lesson includes a prerecorded video lecture by Dr. Finkelstein, readings and tapes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi related to the main themes of the course. Each lesson has a number of excellent videos. Once registered, the students will have access to the course for one year.
Also included in this unique course is Dr. Finkelstein’s doctoral thesis that has been read and enjoyed by hundreds of students. It is titled: Universal Principles of Life Expressed in Maharishi Vedic Science and in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. In over 500 pages, it presents deep explorations of the common ground existing among all of these traditions and reveals the profound unity underlying all the differences. It offers a vision of the experiences and understanding that can create a peaceful world.
