Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is often thought to be a military disorder reserved for veterans of war. However, the facts prove something else.
What is PTSD and how can it be
effectively treated?
According to a new infographic compiled by the U.S. law firm BD&J, one in three women going through labour will develop symptoms of the disorder. PTSD also affects about 50% of people injured in traffic accidents.
The infographic discusses the prevalence of PTSD in the U.S., who is at risk, what the symptoms are, and how someone with the disorder might find relief. It concludes that the most effective form of treatment to date is Transcendental Meditation.
