Ringo Starr’s star-studded birthday brunch is coming up on July 7th. And this year, it could be you on the guest list!
The famous The Beatles’ drummer is inviting one person who has donated to the charitable organization The Peace & Love Fund to his birthday bash in Los Angeles. The lucky winner will be flown to LA and get to hang out with Ringo and his pals to celebrate his 77th year with a brunch.
The Peace & Love Fund was founded in honor of Ringo Starr and Barbara Starkey in 2012 at The David Lynch Foundation (DLF), a nonprofit organization. DLF’s mission is to reduce the epidemic of trauma and toxic stress among at-risk populations including inner-city school kids, veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, the homeless, the prisoners and others by teaching them Transcendental Meditation (TM).
The evidence based technique which mitigates the ill effects of stress on mental and physical health has so far been taught thanks to DLF and the Peace & Love Fund to more than 500,000 children and adults all over the globe.
Ringo Starr has asked his friends and fans around the world to spread “peace and love” on his birthday at noon every year since 2008. This year is no different: “Wherever you are: on the bus, in the factory, having dinner, having lunch,” Starr says. “No matter what part of the world you’re in.”
Except that by making the donation, you could be taking your “peace and love” selfie with Ringo himself.
