On April 1st, 2015 an all-star lineup performed music from David Lynch’s films in Los Angeles, celebrating the 10th Anniversary of The David Lynch Foundation.

FOR THE BENEFIT OF MANY: Before the music the sold-out crowd of approximately 1,600 heard about Transcendental Meditation. The show’s goal was to raise enough money to fund TM sessions for 1,000 students on a waiting list within the Los Angeles Unified School System.

The tribute marked the first time ever that music from David Lynch’s iconic films, Twin Peaks, and his albums has been performed and interpreted live in concert by his original collaborators.

A very “Lynchian” concert

Here’s what reviews published in major music magazines had to say about the event.

Effortlessly turning the venue into her own Club Silencio, Del Rio sang the song a cappella with the same aching purity as she brought to Lynch’s 2001 film.” — Rolling Stone

As is to be expected, much of the music was moody and slow, picking up greatly with Moby’s set of “Go,” on which he played congas, and “The Perfect Lie,” which he led on rhythm guitar.” — Phil Gallo, Billboard

May auspiciousness be seen everywhere. May suffering belong to no one. Peace.” Really, every rock ‘n’ roll show should conclude with a David Lynch recitation. The world, ordinary or otherwise, would be a better place.” — Lyndsey Parker, Yahoo! Music
