Can a Transcendental Meditation teacher also be a professional driving instructor? Apparently, and with great success!

The New York Times has published a wonderful character study on driving instructor Mr Jim Chodan. The 63-year old teaches three days a week at the U.S. Auto School in Brooklyn, New York, and according to the newspaper, his lessons are always full of nonsequitors about life’s little secrets. Mr Chodan’s favourite topics range from canonical literature to Transcendental Meditation.

Mr. Chodan has been practising Transcendental Meditation for over 20 years. He began teaching the technique after studying with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in Kashmir and Switzerland.
