Last preparations are under way in India, Allahabad, for the opening ceremony of a beautiful memorial. It will be dedicated to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the teacher and founder of the Transcendental Meditation practice.
The memorial – Samadhi Smarak – is located on the banks of the Triveni Sangam, confluence of the three holy rivers Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati. Designed and executed by Indian and German architects, its golden plated roof towering at 81 metres will be visible everywhere from the city of Allahabad (Prayag).
The plans to build this huge memorial site were announced shortly after Maharishi’s death on February 5, 2008.
The Samadhi Smarak will open on February 15 amid global attendance.
